Methodology

StreetPulse is a prototype of a Fintwit Fear & Greed gauge. It is inspired by a public request on X from @Mr_Derivatives:

“What if the Fintwit space of X had a sentiment gauge built in the X app. Something similar to the CNN Fear/Greed meter or AAII Bull/Bear reading but just tracks the retail sentiment on X.”

What the number is

The headline score is 0-100. Below 20 is Extreme Fear, 20-40 Fear, 40-60 Neutral, 60-80 Greed, 80+ Extreme Greed.

• Language 45% — lexicon hits on a seeded window of Fintwit-style posts, weighted by a simple reach factor.
• Tickers 20% — average of per-name scores from posts that tag them.
• Breadth 20% — share of bullish vs bearish takes in the window.
• Crowd 15% — votes cast in this browser, persisted in localStorage.

What it is not

It is not a live X firehose, not CNN Fear & Greed, and not advice. Prices in the board are illustrative. Swap the seed corpus for an X API pull when you have keys.
